I've been a type 2 for about fifteen years. I've got a few other health issues right now,but I intend to come to a meeting when they are resolved.

Saw your article in Las Vegas Review Journal and your are correct, the patient has to take control. My doctor all he cared for was keeping me on insulin when I complained about weight he said go for surgery. Well I left that Board Certified Endo Dr. and went back to my primary card doctor, who directed me to take off weight. So far I have taken off 25 lbs still have 20 to go, have gone off Novolog 3 times a day, next going off Lantus but only when my long terms is stable and my daily blood is around 90. So the moral of my story is You got to take control. You are doing well by informing people.
